CVMFS repositories¶
CERN VM File System (CVMFS) is a read-only filesystem used primarily to distribute software onto virtual machines and worker nodes (e.g. lxbatch). A complete overview and documentation is available here.
CVMFS is mounted on all the mp VMs as part of the bagplus Puppet configuration (similarly to the lxplus machines at CERN). It is accessible at /cvmfs.
The beam-physics.cern.ch repository¶
A dedicated beam-physics.cern.ch repository has been created to host beam physics and beam simulation software. It is accessible at /cvmfs/beam-physics.cern.ch/ on machines where CVMFS is deployed. Additionnally, the repository is mirrored worldwide on the stratum-1 servers.
